Fetty Wap says his next album will be “more mature”
In an interview with Billboard, Fetty
Wap spoke out about his sophomore album that he said will be “more
mature” than the debut one.
Fetty Wap is off to a
great start in his musical career. Three of his tracks – “Trap Queen”, “My Way”
and “679” – from his first album released in 2015 were ranked in the Billboard
Hot 100 at the same time – something that has never happened since 2013 with
Eminem. The rapper seems to have found the recipe for success through heady
party music, so why would he need to change it?
Fetty Wap has risen to the top since the release of “Trap
Queen” in 2014
Fetty has decided to
keep the same recipe and just add a new ingredient – the one of
maturity. In an interview with Billboard, the artist spoke out about his second
album. You can already listen to some of the songs from this new project,
such as “Different Now”, but otherwise Fetty has remained discreet about
this new album that he defines as “more mature” than the previous one. “It’s
definitely still the party sound,” he said. “Me and Monty, that’s what
we do; we make party music, club music. But it’s just more […] mature now.
Definitely a more mature sound from me now.”
He also told Billboard
he wanted to make something different from the sound featured in “Trap Queen”
so that he can really show people what he’s worth. “I felt like it was
time for me to figure out what kind of artist I want to be, and I think I found
it,” he added. “I took my time, I wrote more, and I focused on this one.
My sophomore gotta be more mature.”
We got it, Fetty! This
more mature album will be available before the end of the year, and you’ll
probably be able to listen to another single from it before its release!
